Arvin I lost my parents when I was 12 years old. I’m the youngest of five siblings. My sister our eldest  took my parents responsibility to looked upon us. At a young age, I often asked myself why my parents have to die while I still need there guidance and support. My siblings workedso  hard to sustain our daily needs. Despite the sadness and hardship we never gave up. the situation brought us closer to God. Until one time, my brother introduced me the foundation of Enfants du Mekong. My brother was that time a scholar of Apostleship of the Sea – Stella Maris Center in Cebu Philippines under the supervision of Rev. Fr. Roland Doriol. Who became the bridge of EdM. Enfants du Mekong is a French foundation whose objectives is to help poor children go to school through scholarship program.
We’re so blessed, for so many children in our country who are suffering from poverty we are included in the lists. This man introduced us with his kindness and love. His name is Jean Claude Didelot. He supported us in college. We communicated through letters. And finally we met during the blessings of the first ever  EdM center in Cebu. Mr. Didelot visited the center during the occasion where we first meet. We had a very good conversation about life. During that time, I felt the completeness of life.  Honestly, I’m longing for such love, for such support as a child. I just realized that everything happened for a reason. I lost my mother, but God didn’t let me live alone, He gave me a very supportive sister. I lost my father yet  He never forget to gave me Mr. Didelot. What I’ve learned in life is about how to appreciate everything. Everything happen for a reason.  To me he is not just a man who supported me financially. He is not just a friend. But he is a hero, a real father whom I cherish for a lifetime.
